Air Mobility Rodeo 2009, a multi-nation air capability competition conducted by the US Air Force’s Air Mobility Command (AMC), has begun.

The competition is a week-long mobility readiness competition that brings AMC teams together to compete in a variety of events.

Nations including Belgium, Germany, the UK, Spain, Malaysia, Israel, Korea and Turkey are taking part in the competition to improve their air mobility capabilities.

The rodeo will feature over 40 aircraft participating in airdrops, aerial refuelling and other aerial events.

The annual competition includes an aerial port, loading and offloading of an aircraft with engines running, a security force’s obstacle course, a timed aeromedical evacuation configuration challenge and a timed aircraft egress.

More than 50 individual competitions at the Rodeo will continue through to the 24 July.
