The Egyptian Air Force will receive three AW109 helicopters from Augusta Westland through the Egyptian Ministry of Defence.

The A109 Power helicopters, on display at this month’s Paris Air Show, will perform emrgency medical service duties for the ministry of health.

The helicopter will enable the air force to carry patients and two to three medical personnel.

Internal and baggage bay storage areas are equipped with medical equipment and the aircraft design will allow the aircrew to load patients through large cabin doors on either side of the fuselage.

There is also provision for the installation of all necessary medical equipment to treat patients in transit, and oxygen and supply units are positioned on both the cabin rear bulkhead and upper side panels.

The contract has been awarded to the manufacturer by the government of Egypt.
