The US Air Force will invest about $49m to add new features and capabilities to its information support server environment (ISSE) guard software system.

The contract has been given to ITT Corporation, which will design, develop, integrate and sustain the new features and capabilities into the ISSE programme.

ISSE offers a secure cross-domain data transfer solution through a controlled interface connecting multiple security domains.

The deal also includes maintenance of fielded ISSE guard systems and installation of new ISSE software version for government agencies.

The Air Force Research Laboratory will manage the design and development process.
