The US Air Force (USAF) has selected Boeing to provide mission planning support for the F-22 Raptor super-manoeuvrable fighter aircraft.
The contract calls for Boeing to continue development and integration of the existing F-22 mission planning environment (MPE).
The MPE provides the ability to interactively plan and validate missions and gives crews mission information, from pre-flight data reports to post-flight debriefing materials.
The order, awarded under the Air Force’s mission planning enterprise contract-II (MPEC-II), is valued at up to $24m, if all options are exercised.
The MPEC-II contract, with an approximate total value of $920m over ten years, provides for the extension and sustainment of mission planning software, services and solutions.
