The South African Air Force (SAAF) has awarded a contract to Dragon Commodities for the repair and maintenance of the Super Lynx helicopter aircraft handlers.
The SAAF received the four SuperLynx helicopters, assigned to 22 Squadron at Air Force Base Ysterplaat, Cape Town, South Africa, in 2007.
The SAAF selected the rotorcraft against the Eurocopter AS532 Cougar, the Russian Kamov Ka 28 Helix and Kaman’s SG-2G Seasprite, according to DefenceWeb.
The Lynx is a multipurpose helicopter design with a side-by-side cockpit for pilot and observer, which is capable of performing loops and rolls.
