The US Air Force (USAF) has plans to base the Reserve Command MQ-1 Predator remote split-operations (RSO) squadron at Hurlburt Field, Florida, US.
The single MQ-1 RSO squadron deployment, which involves only ground control systems, will consist of 140 personnel and associated equipment.
Deputy assistant secretary for installations Kathleen Ferguson said, “The selection of the preferred alternative is the result of a deliberate, enterprise-wide assessment.”
The final basing decision will be taken following environmental, operational and technical assessment of the site.
The MQ-1 Predator is a medium-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aircraft system with a fully operational system consisting of four air vehicles, a ground control station and a primary satellite link communication suite.
