Boeing has delivered a second C-17 Globemaster III airlifter to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force and Air Defence.
The C-17 will be used to fulfil UAE Air Force airlift requirements including strategic and tactical, military and humanitarian, brigade airdrop and aeromedical evacuation.
The aircraft can transport large payloads without refuelling and can operate in extremely hot and cold climates.
The UAE’s C-17s will be supported through Boeing’s C-17 Globemaster III sustainment partnership to ensure high levels of mission readiness regardless of fleet size.
The company delivered the first aircraft last month and will deliver another two by the end of 2011, with the remaining two due for delivery next year.
