Embraer is to finally deliver Super Tucano light attack and advanced training turboprops to the Indonesian Air Force.
The contract was finalised following the company completing several administrative phases conducted by the Indonesian Ministry of Defence, which was selected in a bidding competition held in November 2010.
As per the finalised contract, the company will sell eight Super Tucano aircraft and ground support stations with an integrated logistics package.
The flexible Super Tucano will substitute other aircraft and perform a broad range of missions, including light attack, surveillance, air-to-air interception, and counter insurgence.
The aircraft is equipped with advanced electronic / optical / infrared and laser technology, secure radios with datalink communications, and unmatched weaponry.
Deliveries of the aircraft will commence in 2012.
