The US Air Force (USAF) has awarded a modification contract to Northrop Grumman Corporation for continuing operations and support of the battlefield airborne communications node (BACN) system.
Under the $48.7m contract modification, the company will continue providing management, engineering, implementation, test, site and training support.
The BACN system provides an advanced airborne communications capability to commanders and warfighters, as well as enhancing situational awareness and extending voice communications.
Northrop is the prime contractor for the development, fielding and maintenance of the BACN system.
Work on the programme will be performed in San Diego, US.
