Cassidian and Frequentis Nachrichtentechnik consortium KOFA – GIADS has delivered the first control and reporting centre (CRC) to the German Air Force in Erndtebrück, Germany.
The battlefield command and control system component was supplied by Cassidian, and Frequentis supplied the new IP-based voice and data communication system KOFA-IP.
The technology upgrade from GIADS II to GIADS III has increased the number of workstations by a third, doubled the number of radar interfaces, and partially automated and enhanced the whole reporting system.
The GIADS air defence system processes information about identified flying objects that is delivered by radar systems, which is then passed to GIADS workstations.
The delivery marks the installation of the KOFA / GIADS-based technology in all German command posts.
