Pacific air force personnel from various specialties have been deployed to support the ongoing disaster relief effort in Japan, following the 11 March earthquake of 8.9 on the Richter scale, which triggered a massive tsunami.
The team of 25 airmen will take a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, which is equipped with several generators, to Yokota Air Base, Japan.
The 374th Communications Squadron commander Lieutenant Colonel Rocky Favorito will be heading the C-17 team, which had just completed an exercise and is ready for real-world response.
613th Air and Space Operations Center chief of personnel recovery operations Captain Jacob Debevec said the team would do their best in supporting the Japanese Government.
