Rolls-Royce has been awarded a contract to support the C-130 transport aircraft fleet in operation with the UK Royal Air Force (RAF).
Under the one-year, $43m contract extension, Rolls-Royce will cover engines powering the RAF’s fleet of C-130 transport aircraft.
Rolls-Royce signed the agreement with Marshall Aerospace, the prime contractor for the Hercules Integrated Operational Support (HIOS) programme.
Rolls-Royce has teamed up with Marshall Aerospace and Lockheed Martin to deliver HIOS, a programme to improve overall availability and reduce support costs of the fleet of C-130s.
Marshall Aerospace provides continued support for both ‘J’ and ‘K’ aircraft variants in service with the Royal Air Force.
