The Indian Air Force (IAF) has inducted the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft.

Chief of air staff Air Chief Marshal PV Naik said the aircraft was capable of landing on all terrains and at all altitudes, and was equipped with an infrared detection set (IDS).

The Indian Air Force’s C-130J Super Hercules is designed to support India’s special operations requirement.

The aircraft can perform precision low-level flying, airdrops and landings in blackout conditions.

The IAF received the first of six C-130J Super Hercules in December last year from Lockheed Martin, reports Sify.
