The Ministry of Defence of Peru has inked a $67m contract with Viking Air for 12 DHC-6-600 Twin Otters for use by the Peruvian Air Force.
Under the contract, the Canadian equipment manufacturer will hand over the first aircraft in July 2011 and complete deliveries in 2014.
The aircraft, bought under the supervision of the Canadian Trade Corporation (CTC), will be used for transport and surveillance in Peru’s Amazonian region, reports ANDINA quoting media reports.
Earlier this year, Vietnam also finalised a purchase agreement for six DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 400 aircraft with Viking Air for delivery between 2012 through 2014.
