The US Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) has selected Transtector Systems’ Source Region Electromagnetic Pulse Electrical Surge Arrestor (SREMP ESA) hardened technology, which will be used to protect Minuteman Weapon Systems.
The AFGSC has worked with Transtector’s Hayden, Idaho, US, engineering labs via a three-year test programme to develop the nuclear hardened panels required to meet project specifications.
The purchase of the SREMP ESA Panels for $4.6m will provide the AFGSC with a completely integrated electromagnetic pulse protection, intended to work with its current systems.
Transtector Systems surge protection devices are used to protect electrical and communications systems in Air Force aircraft, watercraft, vehicles and facilities.
