Embraer has received a contract from the Indonesian Ministry of Defense to supply eight Super Tucano light attack turboprops to the Indonesian Air Force.

The company will also supply ground support stations and an integrated logistics package when the delivery for the contract begins in 2012.

The air force will use the Super Tucano to replace its fleet of OV-10 Broncos.

The Super Tucano, with 100,000 flight hours, can perform a broad range of missions, including light attack, surveillance, air-to-air interception and counter insurgence.

The aircraft is equipped with conventional and laser-guided bombs, air-to-air missiles, electro-optical / infrared (EO/IR) sensors and secure radios with datalink communications.
