Cubic Defense Applications has received a contract to supply air combat training systems and spares for the US Air Force and Navy.

Under the contract, Cubic will deliver its P5 Combat training system / tactical combat training system (P5CTS/TCTS) and system spares for three air force and three naval bases.

P5CTS/TCTS will allow the US Air Force, Navy and Marines to train together using a common platform, and enable US aircrews to train with coalition partners.

The standard package includes airborne instrumentation pods mounted to an aircraft for continuous and precise tracking, ground-based communications equipment and debriefing systems.

P5CTS/TCTS instrumentation pods are currently flying aboard A-10, F-5, F-15, F-16 and F/A-18 aircraft.

The current contract is valued at $16m.
