KBR has received an $88m task order to perform sustainment engineering on the US Air Force (USAF) F-16 Fighting Falcon.

The company will support the A-10 Thunderbolt II and T-38 Talon aircraft.

Work will be carried out in Clearfield, Utah, US, over a period of five years.

The company will increase the aircraft’s operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness.

It will analyse and submit recommendations in support of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC).

Additionally, work will include research and development for the flaw detection and corrosion resistance for the Defense Systems Life Cycle Management Center of AFLCMC.

KBR will collect and analyse data to identify and prioritise deficient, ageing components and develop the test systems and analytical tools that are needed.

It will also carry out obsolescence and diminishing source analysis and non-destructive inspection analysis.

Last month, KBR received a contract provide daily base operation services for the US Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA).

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract is for a period of eight years and has a maximum ceiling value of $974m.
