The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) said on Twitter that the British pilot of the jet, which flew from aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, ejected before the crash and returned safely to the ship.
The MOD added: “It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
