Lockheed Martin has been awarded a contract worth $131m by the US Air Force to provide kits for the Paveway II laser-guided bomb (LGB).

Beginning in the first quarter of 2018, Lockheed will produce guidance kits and airfoil groups for 2,000lb GBU-10 and 500lb GBU-12 LGBs, as part of the deal.

Triumph Group has won a contract worth $22.9m from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to supply aftermarket spare rotary actuators for the main landing gear of the US Air Force’s C-5 Galaxy military transport aircraft.

The spare main landing gear rotary actuators will be manufactured at Triumph Geared Solutions’ facility in Park City, Utah, US.

US-based aerospace and defence company Orbital ATK has been contracted by Lockheed Martin to provide additional composite components for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft.

The contractor will manufacture bullnose and blade seals for the F-35 over a period of three years, as part of the $24m deal.

Leonardo has won a contract to supply two more AgustaWestland AW139 intermediate twin-engine helicopters to the Government of Queensland for use by Queensland Government Air.

Scheduled to be commissioned by December 2018, the helicopters will be used to perform emergency medical services and search-and-rescue missions.
