Deals this week: Armscor, GomSpace, SiCore Technologies

Armscor International Inc has awarded a support services contract worth $24.6m to Saab for Gripen multi-role fighter aircraft.

Armscor International Inc has awarded a support services contract worth $24.6m to Saab for Gripen multi-role fighter aircraft.

Saab will provide engineering support, airworthiness management, maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the Gripen aircraft operated by the South African Air Force.

The contract will ensure the effective operation and availability of Gripen C and D aircraft.

GomSpace Group has received a contract to develop second advanced nanosatellite platform FACSAT-2 for the Colombian Air Force (FAC).

The contract covers design, production, testing and operation of an advanced 6U remote sensing spacecraft.

GomSpace will also help FAC to create its own nanosatellite integration laboratory and operations centre at the airforce base in Cali.

SiCore Technologies Inc has been awarded a contract modification worth $47.9m for research and development work.

“Aero Turbine Inc has won a contract worth $128.76m to provide maintenance and repair services for General Electric J85-GE-5/-21 engine components.”

The contractor will perform research and development of methodologies, tools and techniques to mitigate vulnerabilities in airforce weapon systems and protect the systems against cyber-attack.

Awarded by the US Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the contract will run through March 2023.

Aero Turbine Inc has won a contract worth $128.76m to provide maintenance and repair services for General Electric J85-GE-5/-21 engine components.

Awarded by the US Air Force Sustainment Center, Tinker Air Force Base, the contract is expected to run through January 2020.

Ball Aerospace has won a weather system follow-on-microwave (WSF-M) contract from the US Air Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC).

The company will provide system design and risk reduction for an advanced operational environmental satellite system with a passive microwave imaging radiometer instrument and energetic-charged particle (ECP) sensor for the US Department of Defense.

The contractor will also develop and manufacture two low-earth orbit satellites, under the contract.
