The US Air Force’s (USAF) 774th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron has awarded Alion Science and Technology a task order to support the Air Force Warfighting Integration Capability (AFWIC).

The five-year task order was awarded under the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s (DoD IAC) multiple-award contract (MAC) vehicle.

These contracts are ‘to develop and create new knowledge’ for the improvement of the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) repository, as well as the research and development (R&D), and science and technology communities.

The contract is to provide advanced analysis and engineering, research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) of new technologies and develop solutions to improve the AFWIC mission.

Alion Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group senior vice-president and general manager Alan Dietrich said: “Alion is a driving force behind machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data fusion across multi-domain environments and operations focused on moving operations forward and enabling mission success.

The company will primarily concentrate on the integration of software and data, coordination, knowledge management, and systems and subsystems information sharing for various military purposes.
