Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 18.98% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.34% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.54% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Northrop Grumman posted 611 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 3.17% over the previous month, followed by Raytheon Technologies with 485 jobs and a 24.81% drop. Boeing with 364 IT jobs and General Dynamics with 334 jobs, recorded a 12.08% decline and a 41.91% decrease, respectively, while Huntington Ingalls Industries recorded a decline of 3.28% with 324 job postings during October 2022.

Mid Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Mid Level jobs held a share of 46.25%, down by 15.14% from September 2022. Junior Level positions with a 37.37% share, registered a decline of 18.44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.87% share, down 36.33% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.52%, recording a month-on-month increase of 125%.
