September 2022 has seen a decrease of 1.85% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.
IT jobs accounted for an 18.92% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 0.21% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 42.55% in September 2022, a 7.94% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Research Scientists came in next, claiming a share of 26.57% in September 2022, marking a 2.1% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 18.64% in September 2022, a 10.31% drop from August 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 5.49% in September 2022, a 9.74% decline over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 6.77% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s aerospace, defence & security industry during September 2022 over previous month.
Raytheon Technologies posted 645 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 27.72% over the previous month, followed by Northrop Grumman with 631 jobs and a 0.94% drop. General Dynamics with 573 IT jobs and The Boeing with 437 jobs, recorded a 10.4% rise and a 5.82% drop, respectively, while Huntington Ingalls Industries recorded a 1.52% increase with 333 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s aerospace, defence & security industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 98.22% share in September 2022, a 7.61% decrease over August 2022. Canada featured next with a 1.73% share, up 49.02% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.05% share, a drop of 85.71% compared with August 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 43.25%, down by 9.27% from August 2022. Junior Level positions with a 36.44% share, registered a decline of 11.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.78% share, up 6.24% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.32%, recording a month-on-month decline of 30%.
