Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 12.3% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.41% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 19.36% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 58.82% in November 2021, registering a 4.48% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 20.17% share, an increase of 166.67% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 10.08%, registering a 140% rise from October 2021.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 8.4%, up 25% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 9.09% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

CAE posted 32 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 100% over the previous month, followed by Thales with 31 jobs and a 32.61% drop. Teledyne Technologies with 22 IT jobs and Raytheon Technologies with 16 jobs, recorded a 22.22% growth and a 128.57% growth, respectively, while The Boeing recorded a decline of 41.67% with 7 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.82%, up by 45.83% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.57% share, registered an increase of 78.95% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.61% share, down 58.33% over October 2021.
