US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring rose 1.7% in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 2.24% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 34.71% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2021, and recorded a 1.95% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in October 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 86.23% in October 2021, and a 3.75% drop over September 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 5.75% in October 2021, and registered growth of 8.27%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 2.94% in October 2021, a 9.41% drop from September 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Amazon

North America emerged as the leading region in the global apparel IT hiring activity in October 2021 with an 83.3% share, which marked a 6.63% rise over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 9.05%, registering a 27.63% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 5.62% share and a 46.93% drop over September 2021.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.43% and a month-on-month increase of 15.38%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.59%, registering a 22.5% drop over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 79.5% share in October 2021, an 11.49% growth over September 2021. India featured next with a 5.12% share, down 44.86% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 3.21% share, a decline of 49.7% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 46.32%, down by 0.33% from September 2021. Entry Level positions with a 37.71% share, a decline of 7.06% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 15.93% share, down 1.07% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.04%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
