Pakistan Air Force Begins Production of Falco UAV

21 August 2009

The Pakistan Air Force has began production of its first indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), called Falco.

Falco will be deployed to enhance operation capability, and to address the present and future surveillance and reconnaissance needs of the country's air force.

The drone is being developed by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex in collaboration with Italy's Selex Galileo.

During a recent meeting with the US, Pakistan asked for transfer of drone technology to help its forces act against terrorists.
