Elbit Systems has secured a contract to deliver an unmanned aircraft system (UAS)-based intelligence solution to an undisclosed European country.
The new $78m two-year contract will be performed by Elbit Systems’ ISTAR division, a new unit established after combining Electro-optics Elop and UAS divisions.

Elbit Systems ISTAR Division general manager Elad Aharonson said: “We are proud of this contract award to supply a solution that answers the current and future requirements of the high level intelligence systems’ market.
“We develop and tailor end-to-end solutions that meet the demands and specific expectations of our customers.”
Elbit Systems’ intelligence solution will include advanced multi-sensor payload system (AMPS), which is a multi-sensor electro-optics system that offers long-range visual intelligence for both day and night.
In addition, the new system is adaptable for several airborne applications and serves as a significant element for the integrated intelligence solution, the company stated.

In August, Elbit Systems secured two contracts to supply directed infrared countermeasures (DIRCM) airborne, multi-spectral, self-protection systems to European and Asian customers.
Under the first contract, Elbit will be responsible for delivering its mini multi-spectral infrared countermeasure (MUSIC) systems for the Asian customer’s Blackhawk helicopter fleet, while the second deal will see the delivery of C-MUSIC systems to a Nato member state.
