BAE Systems awarded a series of orders to Cobham for the delivery of microelectronic products for the F-35 Lightning II platform.
Under these $51m orders, Cobham will be responsible for providing microelectronic components and integrated microelectronic assemblies for radar and electronic warfare (EW).
Work under these contracts will be performed by Cobham Microelectronic Solutions.

According to Cobham, every F-35 Lightning II features more than 100 Cobham components including microelectronic components, microwave systems and motion control solutions for the Electro-optical Targeting System (EOTS) gimbal.
In addition, the company offers communications cryptography chips, pilot survival products and aerial refuelling equipment for the F-35 Lightning II platform.
In September, BAE signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Denmark’s Terma Aerostructures to support F-35 Lightning II production.
Under the contract, Terma will continue to manufacture subassemblies, components and parts for the F-35 Lightning II empennage.
In addition, Terma will be responsible for delivering elements of the horizontal tails for all three F-35 variants, and vertical tail components for the conventional take-off and landing variant of F-35A.
