The EFASS aircraft hangar has been specially converted into a functional aircraft sunshade to protect vital aircraft and crews from searing temperatures and powerful UV rays.

The existing EFASS hangar product was adapted to create Rubb Military sunshades. The new sunshades have proven to be hugely successful and demonstrate the flexibility and versatility of the military EFASS rapid deployable product range.

Military sunshades advantages

The EFASS range covers all operations with span widths of 11.1m (36ft), 20.4m (67ft) and 25m (82ft) to suit specific requirements.

The sunshades are capable of withstanding wind loads of VE 41.6m/s and snow loads of 100kg per m². High grade 6082 T6 aluminium leg and roof sections ensures the structure is secure while remaining lightweight to be transported.

Rubb uses the highest quality and strongest PVC coated fabric, which provides durability and an effective working environment. Double skin insulated PVC fabric cladding is fire retardant, has an insulation U value of 1.68 W/m²K, and can be easily repaired.

Typical lengths of the sunshades range from 12m to 100m and are extendable further by 4m bay to suit customers’ operations.

The complete EFASS range of military hangars pack into certified front and side opening 20ft ISO containers. Rubb provides special packing inspection sheets (SPIS) to ensure items are packed and unpacked in conjunction with military specifications.

EFASS are supplied with their own integral foundation arrangements, which include various adaptations and accessories to securely anchor the structure to the ground.

The EFASS range can easily be adapted to change its use from an aircraft hangar to warehouse. They are also easily transportable due to their lightweight design and individual packing configurations for land, sea or air delivery.

Rubb’s military sunshades are fully relocatable and will fit into containers for transport and storage.
