StandardAero will provide propulsion system maintenance and support for the Royal Canadian Air Force's (RCAF) fleet of CC-130 Hercules and CP-140 Aurora aircraft.

Awarded by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), the C$45m ($34.2m) contract will allow the company to provide T56 propulsion sustainment for the next four years.

The services include maintenance and support of T56 Power Sections, QECs (CC130), RGBs, 54H60 Propellers, APUs and modules / accessories of the aircraft.

StandardAero will also provide programme management, fleet management, engineering and publications, as well as supply chain management in support of the CC-130/CP-140 fleets.

The contract comes with an option to extend until the Aurora and Hercules aircraft are retired.

Operated by the 405 and 407 Maritime Patrol Squadrons of the RCAF, the CP-140 Aurora aircraft has been designed to conduct maritime surveillance, and search-and- rescue operations, as well as to detect drug trafficking, illegal fishing, immigration and pollution along the coastline.

The RCAF employs CC-130 Hercules for a wide range of missions, including troop transport, tactical airlift, search-and-rescue, air-to-air refuelling, and aircrew training.

This four-engine fixed-wing turboprop aircraft is capable of accommodating up to 78 combat troops.
