Northrop Grumman’s Litening G4 advanced targeting pod (ATP) has received full-fielding recommendation from the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) to equip F-16 C/D Block 25/30/32 aircraft.

The AATC, along with the 177th Fighter Wing, has tested the targeting pod system to evaluate its flight hours and has also completed the operational utility evaluation (OUE) to verify suitability for the F-16 Block 30 mission areas.

The G4 AT pod features advanced forward-looking infrared and charge-coupled device (CCD) sensors, laser imaging and data link technology.

The pod delivers accurate target identification and location at longer ranges, and the ability to capture images where forward-looking infrared and CCD are ineffective.
