KBR's government services business, KBRwyle, has secured a position on a $950m indefinite quantity / indefinite delivery (IDIQ) contract to provide engineering and construction services for the US Air Force (USAF).

Awarded by the USAF Civil Engineer Center, the multi-award task order contract allows KBRwyle to compete for task orders to provide a range of design, construction and engineering services.

The Worldwide Engineering & Construction (WE&C) contract has a five-year base period and three one-year options.

"KBRwyle has provided mission-critical support to the USAF for more than 60 years."

KBR president and CEO Stuart Bradie said: "This new contract award will provide an opportunity to create synergies resulting from the combination of KBR's ability to successfully execute urgent and compelling tasks in remote and austere environments around the globe and KBRwyle's long-standing service of delivering specialised solutions for US government customers.

The government services business serves government customers globally, including capabilities that cover the full life-cycle of defence, space, aviation and other government programmes and missions from research and development, through systems engineering, test and evaluation, programme management, to operations, maintenance, and field logistics.

In October last year, KBRwyle secured a position on a $900m US Navy global contingency services multiple award contract in support of Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pacific's (NAVFAC Pacific).
