Iran has equipped its air defence units with advanced drone-detecting radars capable of destroying unauthorised unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Khatom ol-Anbia Air Defense Base commander brigadier general Farzad Esmayeeli said.
Fars News Agency has also reported that the nation has upgraded previous radar systems.
Recently, the nation tested its indigenous long range radar system and confirmed it would be designing a new radar system that will be capable of countering incoming cruise missiles.
The new long-range radar will enable Iran’s air defence forces to monitor low-altitude satellites.
Iran has gained self-sufficiency in producing radar systems with different ranges up to 1,850 miles, which can detect all flying objects, even in the Persian Gulf littoral states.
