Airbus Military has delivered the first of two C295 aircraft to the Ghana Air Force (GAF).
The delivery follows a contract signed in August this year for the acquisition of two C295 planes.
The twin engine C295 turboprop multirole transport aircraft is designed for maritime patrol and surveillance missions, medical evacuation, training and humanitarian operations.
The short take-off and landing (STOL) and rough-field capabilities of the aircraft will help the GAF to enter previously inaccessible West African sub-regions.
Delivery of the second aircraft is scheduled for early next year.
