USAF logistician

Array Information Technology (ARRAY) has secured two contracts to maintain and modernise the US Air Force’s (USAF) two critical logistics data systems.

The competitively awarded contracts seek upgrade of the air force’s maintenance planning and execution (MP&E) system, and the integrated logistics system-supply (ILS-S).

Under the first contract, the company-led team will provide application services support to the MP&E system over the next five years.

Leading a strong team of partners, the company will develop a four-year plan for sustainment of ILS-S, with the aim to take it to the next level of efficacy in supporting the air force mission requirements, as part of the second contract.

”We are taking on the challenge of consolidating multiple MP&E databases into one and ILS-S offers significant opportunities for innovation that are desperately needed by our airmen.”

Array Defense Solutions vice president Jon Dittmer said the contracts build on long and productive relationships that exist between the company and its partners.

”We look forward to helping the air force develop more efficient and effective approaches to weapons systems maintenance reporting and inventory management,” Dittmer added.

Array Defense client executive Mark Douglas said: ”We are taking on the challenge of consolidating multiple MP&E databases into one and ILS-S offers significant opportunities for innovation that are desperately needed by our airmen.”

MP&E is a critical logistics data system used by the USAF as the primary source of data for reporting core national defence capabilities for aerospace depot maintenance to the Congress.

Serving as the front-end of the base supply system, ILS-S is used for delivery of supplies and equipment support to the USAF, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard units at more than 300 fixed operating bases and forward-operating locations worldwide.

Accessed by over 100,000 every day, the system is critical to the successful accomplishment of the air force’s training and combat operations.
