AEgis Technologies has been awarded a contract to provide support services for the US Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), the Aeronautical System Center (ASC), Requirements and Capabilities Integration Directorate (XR), Modeling Simulation & Analysis Division (ASC/XRA) and the Simulation and Analysis Facility (SIMAF).

The $80m indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract enables the company to compete for individual services task orders and product delivery orders issued over the next five years under the omnibus umbrella contract.

Under the terms of the contract, the company will provide modelling simulation & analysis (MS&A), software development and integration services across the airborne network, electronic warfare, unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and human factors domains to ASC/XRA Directorate.

AEgis president and CEO Steve Hill said SIMAF will provide collaborative environment to address current and future Air Force capabilities in support of air force decision makers and the overall pursuit of increased mission effectiveness for the warfighters.

AEgis Western Operations vice president Pat Cannon said the contract provides the company with another great opportunity to continue to support the warfighter and the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition community in an area of distributed simulation and analysis.

The ASC/XRA SIMAF facility, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Basein Ohio, US, offers capabilities analyses and integration across programme acquisition life cycles and addresses System of System (SOS) concepts for future capabilities.
