The Pakistani Air Force (PAF) has confirmed that the Shahbaz Air Base is under complete operational control and there is no threat from flood water.
Air vice marshal of the Southern Air Command Arshad Quddus told Dawn.com that floodwaters have been diverted to save the air base.

“There is no threat of flooding to the air base because it is 5ft above the ground level and the flow of water could only touch the floors of the base in the worst case scenario,” he said.
An air bridge has been established between the Shahbaz Air Base and other strategic air bases to supply relief goods and evacuate the stranded people in areas of Jacobabad, according to Quddus.
The PAF is also providing medical health assistance to affected people in towns near the air base.
