The HMIT, a heads-up system, will display crucial information in high-resolution colour imagery directly in the pilot’s field of vision.

It will display information such as weapons-cueing, targeting and situational awareness information including data from on-board and remote sensors.

The system, which will be fully compatible with US military-standard airborne night vision systems, will track helmet movement to display accurate imagery irrespective of the direction the pilot’s head is turned.

Raytheon Technical Services Company will jointly work with Gentex to produce the system based on Gentex’s Visionix Scorpion helmet-mounted cueing system.
