The Italian Air Force’s X Gruppo has become the fourth Italian Squadron to receive the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
The X Gruppo squadron will use the Eurofighters for policing and protecting the air space over the skies of Albania.
The X Gruppo, which previously used F-16 fighters, has joined the XII Gruppo of the 36° Stormo (Air Wing) and has moved to Gioia del Colle air base.
Equipped with twin EJ200 engines, the Eurofighter Typhoon has been designed as the world’s most advanced swing-role combat aircraft.
