Russian Air Force Commander Colonel General Alexander Zelin said the air force would acquire five regiments of S-400 and S-500 anti-aircraft missile systems by 2020.

The S-500 will have an extended range and a ten-piece warhead to destroy hypersonic ballistic targets, according to ITAR-TASS News Agency.

Almaz Central Design Bureau director of S-400 producer Igor Ashurbeily said the next generation S-500 would be developed by 2015.

The air force will deploy two S-400 long-range missile defence systems in the Far East by the end of 2010.
