The Finnish Air Force will receive basic training and technical support for the Vinka aircraft fleet from Patria Aviation.

Under the €42m ($52m) contract, Patria will provide flight training and management, including logistic support, maintenance and repair work.

Patria will provide the flight training from 2010 to 2018, in line with the Finnish Air Force’s resource planning.

Manufactured by Valmet, the L-70 Vinka is a piston-powered military basic trainer aircraft, which has a maximum take-off weight of 1,250kg, maximum speed of 340km/h and a range of 840km.
