The UK will receive support from the US to continue its participation in the USAF / Boeing Globemaster III sustainment partnership programme.

Under a $390m foreign military sales contract, the US will provide support for the UK’s fleet of seven Boeing C-17A Globemaster III cargo aircraft.

The US will also provide contractor technical and logistics personnel services, support equipment, spare and repair parts, and other related elements of logistics support.

The programme will ensure that the UK can effectively maintain its current force projection capability to enhance interoperability with the US forces.

It will provide the UK and other Nato forces with rapid global strategic mobility to deploy to austere locations.

The principal contractor will be Boeing in Long Beach, California.
