Israel has requested the US supply additional weapons to the country due to increasing threats and rising tensions from neighbouring boundaries.
Joint direct attack munition (JDAM) bombs for the Israel Air Force (IAF) have been included in the request to increase the number of such weapons already in its arsenal.
The IAF has increasingly used JDAM bombs in recent operations, including in the Second Lebanon War in 2006 and Operation Cast Lead in 2008, according to Haaretz.com.
The request was made during an Israeli delegation visit to Washington.
