A new radar for the US Air Force’s B-2 stealth bomber aircraft has successfully fulfilled performance requirements for conventional and strategic missions.

The Northrop Grumman-built radar system has completed two verification compliance reviews, which tested the radar’s hardware, basic operational modes and strategic mission modes.

The air force and the defence firm jointly planned and executed the B-2 test flights and analysed radar test data as a part of the B-2 radar modernisation programme.
