The US Air Force Inspection Agency has recently selected a core team to increase standardisation and consistency of nuclear surety inspections (NSI) across the air force.

The centralised Air Force NSI Core Team will ensure perfection and precision across the nuclear enterprise.

The inspectors will perform ten to 14 inspections a year across all nuclear major commands.

The core team will also support the semi-annual NSI process review, the NSI inspector training and certification programme and applicable conferences and meetings held throughout the enterprise.

The core team member will be subject matter experts from their field who will be trained and certified as nuclear inspectors, and will gain experience across the air force nuclear enterprise.

The NSI core team will merge with the MAJCOM inspector general team to form a single inspection unit.
