The US Air Force Research Laboratory (USAFRL) has issued a formal request for information (RFI) in a bid to advance the fielding of a hypersonic missile.
The RFI has invited proposals from manufacturers to provide information on the USAF conventional prompt global strike capability.
Companies including Boeing and Northrop Grumman have expressed interest in the offer, and Boeing is expected to offer an update of its dormant hypersonic vehicle concept, according to Flight Global.
The Falcon programme offered by Boeing faced problems with the first and third versions being cancelled and the second losing control after its first launch.
