Lockheed Martin and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) have unveiled the first of 30 new Turkish-built F-16 Falcon at TAI’s facility near Ankara, Turkey.

The upgrades on all F-16 Turkish versions will help keep the fleet modern and fully supportable over the aircraft’s long service life.

The F-16 fighter jets have a high level of manoeuvrability, a speed of 2,124km/h, and can even detect planes flying at very low altitudes.

The Turkish Air Force has more than 200 F-16 aircraft.

Delivery of the 30 new advanced block 50 models will take place between May 2011 and December 2012.
