China has successfully flight tested an indigenous unmanned helicopter, the V750, from the flight test centre of Weifang Tianxiang Aerospace Industry Co, China.

Xinhua News Agency reported that the medium-sized unmanned helicopter has a take-off weight of 757kg and performed a few manoeuvres before landing.

The helicopter, with a load capacity of over 80kg, is capable of flying at a maximum speed of 161km/h and can also be controlled by humans within a distance of over 150km.

Weifang Tianxiang Aerospace Industry chairman Cheng Shenzong said the aircraft could be used in surveillance, search and rescue, and scientific exploration purposes.
