The Taiwanese Air Force has carried out unsuccessful missile tests of US-made Sparrow and French-made Mica missiles during a drill at an airbase in southern Taiwan earlier this week.
Two of four missiles missed their targets, air force spokesman Pan Kung-shiao told Agence France Presse.
“Our procedure was correct, and we will review this with the French and the US sides that made the missiles,” he added.
The recent tests follow a similar failure that occurred two months ago during a live-fire manoeuvre, in which six out of 19 missiles missed their targets or failed to explode.
